- Contribution to culture The Association of Cultural Associations of Karditsa was founded in 1985 and is the secondary organ of the Prefecture that "houses" the activity and operation of 220 Associations. It organises the following two leading cultural events on an annual basis: a) the Panhellenic Amateur Theatre Festival which takes place in the third ten days of March. b) the International Cultural Festival Karaiskakeia, which takes place in the last ten days of June.
